Patrik Banga is a fiction writer, journalist, commentator, presenter, musician, and an IT programmer by profession. He lives in Prague.
His fairy tale “O chytrém kocourovi” / "The Clever Cat" was published in Tereza Boehmová's book of fairy tales Zajíček Zlobílek (The Naughty Bunny, 2010). His autobiographical short stories “Žižkovák” and “Lavutara” were published in the anthologies Všude samá krása (Nothing But Beauty Everywhere, Kher, 2021) and Samet blues (Velvet Blues, Kher, 2021). A year later, he published the autobiographical prose Skutečná cesta ven (The True Way Out, Host, 2022), for which he won Magnesia Litera’s Debut of the Year. It was subsequently translated into various languages, including English, German and Arabic. In 2025, his text featured among a group of Czech writers who contributed to the catalogue entitled The Momentum of a Decision published as part of the Czech Republic's participation on the 24th Triennale of Architecture and Design in Milan, whose central theme was Inequality.
