Marie Voslářová, a graduate of Scandinavian Studies and Translation Studies at Charles University’s Faculty of Arts, works as a translator from Swedish and German, as well as an editor for the iLiteratura magazine and NAMU publishing house. She organizes educational events for the Translators of the North association.
She has translated novels by Henning Mankell (Swedish Boots, Host 2018) and Andrzej Tichy (Misery, Argo 2019) from Swedish, as well as graphic novels by Liv Strömquist (The Fruit of Knowledge, Paseka 2018; The Reddest Rose, Paseka 2021) and the ten-part children's series by Åsa Larsson and Ingela Korsell Pax (Host 2015). She is also the author of translations of German non-fiction authors Michael Martin (The Substance of the Desert, Kazda 2020) and Peter Wohlleben (The Hidden Life of Trees, Kazda 2020). For her translation of Clemens Setz's short story collection Love in the Time of the Mahlstadt Child (Fra 2019), she received the Tomáš Hrách Prize as part of the Josef Jungmann Award in 2020. Her translation of Ulf Stark's children's book Daredevils and Scallywags (Portál 2020) was shortlisted for the Golden Ribbon Award in 2021. In 2024, she won the Magnesia Litera Award for her translation of the book The Homestead (Argo 2024) by Finnish author Maria Turtschaninoff, who writes in Swedish, and in 2025 she received the Muriel Award for her translation of Liv Strömquist's comic book In the Hall of Mirrors (Paseka, 2023).
She translated Sofie Taikon's Swedish-Romani comic book Žofi Z-4515 (Kher 2022) for the Kher publishing house.
