Erika Godlová studied Slovak and English at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Prešov, Slovakia. During her studies, she became part of the editorial team of the boarding-school radio station, where she gained her first work experience in the media. She was also involved in the creation of the Romani newspaper Romano l'il, where her mother worked as an editor at the time. Later, along with Robo Žigmund, she hosted a Romani radio show which was scripted by her parents. Godlová also translated for the radio, e.g. Biblical stories into Romani. Between 2010 and 2012, she worked at the Open Society Fund, where she coordinated a scholarship program for Romani students. She also collaborated with other non-profit organizations, primarily on projects focused on preschool education for Romani children. She currently works at the State Scientific Library in Prešov, a documentation and information centre for Romani culture, as an editor, translator and Romani cultural-awareness debate-organizer. She has also contributed to the digital dictionary of Romani neologisms for the Faculty of Arts of Charles University.
Her short story “Šepkajúce tetovanie” / “The Whispering Tattoo” was published in the book O mulo! Povídky o duchách zemřelých (Look, A Ghost! Stories About the Ghosts of the Dead, Kher, 2019).
